- In the bottom right corner of your screen, right-click on the speaker icon and click “Sound settings”.
- This will launch the System > Sound page for Windows Settings, the section you’re interested in will be the second “Input” part.
- In the “Input” section, you will find a list of your available audio input devices, with radio buttons next to them. Whichever input device has its radio button selected is your current default and will be used by Sidd whenever it starts up. In the case of the below image, that would be the “Microphone 2-AC-304”.
Change Default Input Source (agent)
- In the Input section, you can switch the default input source by selecting the radio button next to the source you want to default to upon opening Sidd. In this case, we want to use the “Microphone Array” instead of the “Microphone,” so by clicking the radio button next to it, Sidd will now use that by default upon running.
- Once your default is set, you may need to restart Sidd for the changes to take effect.
Testing Audio Input Source (agent)
- You can verify that an audio source is working by testing it out in the System > Sound section of Windows Settings. First, find the input device you want to test in the list, then click the arrow on the right side of it.
- This will bring you to the properties window for that device, where the section you’re concerned with is the second one, “Input Settings”.
- To test out the input device click the “Start test” button. Once you start talking into the device during the test, you should notice the blue volume bar in the “Input Volume” line will then get a second larger blue bar in it, registering the volume of the audio coming in. You can also see the “Start test” button has now become the “Stop test” button.
- Once done, you can click the “Stop test” button, which will provide you with a readout of the maximum volume you achieved by the input

- In the bottom right corner of your screen, right-click on the speaker icon and click “Sound settings”.
- This will launch the System > Sound page for Windows Settings, the section you’re interested in, will be “Output”.
- In the “Output” section, you’ll find a list of all the available output devices listed with radio buttons next to them. Whichever device has its radio button marked off is currently set as the default audio output device. So, in the case of the image above, the current default output device is “K2275F”.
Change Default Output Source (Customer)
- In the Output section, you can switch the default output source by selecting the radio button next to the source you want to default to upon opening Sidd. In this case, we want to use the “Speakers 2-AC-304".
- Instead of the “Realtek HD Audio 2nd output,” so by clicking the radio button next to it, Sidd will now use that by default upon running.
- For this to take effect in Sidd, you may need to perform a restart of the application.
Testing Audio Output Source (Customer)
- To test the audio output source, click on the arrow on the right side of the item in the audio output list.
- This will take you to the properties page for that output device. Here in the second section labelled “Output settings,” you’ll find a “Test” button. When you click it, a chime noise will be played in this audio device, verifying whether or not you can hear it.
